Called the 'Bearbot' and designed by 'Vivien Muller,' the smart device is able to control many aspects of the home -- making the homeowner's life a little bit more convenient. The small autonomous bot has a screen and ears that make it look like a bear and it works by responding to its own [sign language](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/universal-wearable-controller) -- taking away the need to touch and preventing the spread of germs. Bearbot can control a variety of home devices including cellphones, laptops, TVs, light bulbs, shutters, music, air conditioning and the thermostat. The endearing design of the robot is another benefit, as the bear on the screen shows spontaneous facial expressions. As most homes are connected to a multitude of technologies, the Bearbot helps to control those in a way that is simple and fun. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 78% | Activity: 91% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Home Automation Bots:** The advancement of home automation bots like the 'Bearbot' presents opportunities for further integrating and controlling various home devices. - **Smart Device Control:** The ability of the 'Bearbot' to control multiple devices using sign language opens up possibilities for more intuitive and touchless smart device control. - **Expressive Robot Design:** The use of expressive designs, as seen in the 'Bearbot,' can enhance user interaction and emotional connection with robots. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Automation:** The development of home automation bots like the 'Bearbot' creates opportunities for companies specializing in creating smart home ecosystems and devices. - **Consumer Electronics:** Incorporating sign language control into consumer electronics, as demonstrated by the 'Bearbot,' can disrupt the way users interact with devices such as smartphones, laptops, and TVs. - **Robotics:** The integration of expressive designs in robotics, exemplified by the 'Bearbot,' can revolutionize the field by making robots more relatable and appealing to users. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [App Controlled Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fingerbot-sense.md) - [Universal Smart Home Remotes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/switchbot-universal-remote.md) - [Bear-shaped Bluetooth Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bearbrick-collectible-toy.md) - [Ceiling-Mounted AI Companions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguins-innovate-white-rabbit.md) - [Connected Curtain Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/curtain-robot.md) - [AI-Powered Teddy Bear Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tedi.md) - [Autonomous Smartphone-Charging Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dockbot-home-robot.md) - [Discreet Furniture-Like Home Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-home-robot-concept.md) - [AI-Fueled Smart Home Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-agent.md)
