# Awesome Basement Gamer Arcades This Brilliant at Home Arcade was a Father and Son Project By Lacey-Jane Walsh | Published 2013-05-28 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-arcade References: [buzzpatrol](http://www.buzzpatrol.com/arcade-built-in-basement-by-father-son/) & [reddit](http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/1erntu/the_arcade_my_father_and_i_made_in_the_basement/) This super impressive at-home arcade started out as a father and son project. The result was a mind-blowing basement arcade that can only be described as gamer heaven. Forget Dave & Buster's, this would make for an unbeatable birthday party location. This at-home arcade features a built-in bar for gamers above the legal drinking age. It also includes a large foosball table and about a zillion amazing retro and new arcade games. This basement arcade is a video game lover's dream. While this at-home gamer hangout is a marvelous idea, making your own would be extremely costly since arcade games cost a small fortune. But if you have the cash and a passion for old-school video games, creating a basement arcade is definitely worth it. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 49% | Activity: 52% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Home Arcades:** The trend of building at-home arcades will continue to grow as more people seek out unique entertainment experiences. - **Retro Gaming:** The trend of incorporating classic arcade games into modern entertainment spaces will create opportunities for nostalgic experiences. - **Custom Gaming Spaces:** The trend of building personalized gaming spaces will drive innovation and customization in the gaming industry. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Gaming:** The gaming industry will continue to see growth as more people turn to video games for entertainment. - **Home Entertainment:** The home entertainment industry will see opportunities for creating unique and personalized entertainment spaces. - **Interior Design:** The trend of customizing gaming spaces will drive innovation in the interior design industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Design-Conscious Arcade Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arcade-basketball-game.md) - [Retro Gaming Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gamestation-retro.md) - [DIY Arcade Game Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thunderstick-grs-buildacade.md) - [Retro Arcade Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/class-of-81.md) - [Nostalgic Arcade Building Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-arcade-machine-set.md) - [Pillow-Like Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arcade1up-pacman-couchcade.md) - [Retro 90s Arcade Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xmen-97-cabinet.md) - [Ultra-Minimal Arcade Gaming Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-arcade-cabinet.md) - [Retro Gaming Room Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-gaming-box.md)
