Sarly Adre Bin Sarkum of Malaysia has designed the HO2 scraper, a self-sufficient [underwater wavescraper](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/darpa-1) that harvests renewable energy from the sea, then uses it to grow food.

Underwater architecture is particularly interesting to those concerned with [rising sea levels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lift-house) due to global warming. The HO2 scraper harvests wave, wind and solar power and uses [aquaculture and hydroponic food production](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/living-on-groundwater) technologies to grow food underwater.

**Implications** - The last few years have seen an increase in the importance of environmentally friendly devices and products. One of the best ways a company can engender good will is by creating products that explicitly exhort consumers to catch up with them in purchasing sustainable products and living a Green lifestyle.
