'Hip Hop Revolution' is a new exhibit being put on by the [Museum of the City of New York](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/museum-of-graffiti1).

The exhibit features more than 80 [vintage photographs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rhinoceros-gallery1) by the likes of Martha Cooper, Janette Beckman and Joe Conzo, all of whom played a big role in the formation of hip-hop music and culture in New York City. Curator Sean Corcoran explains, "Put together, their work traces the movement from nascent youth subculture to mainstream phenomenon."

To augment the effect of the photographs, the exhibit also features listening stations set up with music from the greats: [Salt-N-Pepa](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grandmas-cookies), Queen Latifa, Run DMC and Busta Rhymes, among others, so visitors can enjoy both visual and audio representation of their favorite artists.
