We've seen renovated churches as homes, but this 15th century monastery is a beautiful example of how the ancient old world architecture can thrive today and become a modern day vacation destination. Don't let the outside walls fool you that it will be a museum-like blast from the past; all of the interior design is on the cutting edge of modern decor, with bright colours, contemporary furniture and extremely vibrant paintings. The Dutch building has a preserved courtyard which, with the addition of modern flood lights, could be even more glorious than when it was first erected. The dining hall is even more marvelous, the old-fashioned banquet tables flooded by disco pink lights. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 58% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Social Good](https://www.trendhunter.com/socialgood) > [Religious](https://www.trendhunter.com/religious) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Gothic Architecture Revival:** The Kruisherenhotel demonstrates the growing trend of reviving Gothic architecture for contemporary purposes, presenting opportunities for architects and developers to create unique and trendy spaces. - **Modernization of Historical Spaces:** The interior design of the Kruisherenhotel showcases the trend of modernizing historical spaces, offering opportunities for interior designers and hospitality businesses to transform old buildings into vibrant and stylish destinations. - **Blend of Old and New Aesthetics:** The Kruisherenhotel exemplifies the trend of blending old and new aesthetics, inspiring opportunities for artists and designers to create visually striking spaces that combine traditional and contemporary elements. ### Who This Affects Most - **Hospitality:** The Kruisherenhotel represents the potential for the hospitality industry to utilize historical buildings and iconic architecture to create unique and memorable guest experiences. - **Architecture:** The Kruisherenhotel highlights the demand for innovative architecture that combines historical preservation with modern design, signaling opportunities for architects to reimagine and repurpose old structures. - **Interior Design:** The interior design of the Kruisherenhotel showcases the potential for interior designers to blend historical elements with contemporary aesthetics, offering new possibilities for creating visually stunning and distinctive spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Retro Nightlife-Inspired Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/htel-chteau-deau.md) - [Angular Church Matte Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/red-church.md) - [Enchanting Folklore-Inspired Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kimpton-bem.md) - [Renovated Neo-Gothic Provostry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/provostry.md) - [Gothic-Themed Ornamental Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hyde-hyde.md) - [Brutalist Hotel Transformation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fairmont-golden-prague.md) - [17th-Century Converted Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/locke-de-santa-joana.md) - [Village-Luke Charming Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/botree-hotel.md) - [Brutalist Artful Hotel Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoxton-charlottenburg.md)
