The home acquired its name because of its spot next to an existing "gumno," or stone plateau. Because it's [built on an incline](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-the-slope), the Gumno House has access to beautiful views of both the sea and surrounding land. The architects decided to build on a stone platform that raises the home even higher, maximizing the views. Inside, the home features a wine cellar that can also be used as a space for entertaining guests, a living room featuring floor-to-ceiling glazing and an [elevated swimming pool](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-villa-bo) that comes to a point. The interior of the home is divided into four separate wings. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 81% | Activity: 34% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Elevated Homes:** Designing homes on raised platforms to maximize views and access to surrounding landscapes. - **Floor-to-ceiling Glazing:** Incorporating expansive windows in architectural designs to create a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. - **Multipurpose Spaces:** Creating versatile areas within homes that can serve multiple functions, such as wine cellars that double as entertainment spaces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture:** Opportunity for architects to create innovative designs that harmonize with the natural landscape and provide unique living experiences. - **Construction:** Demand for constructing elevated homes and implementing floor-to-ceiling glazing techniques to meet the growing market of homeowners seeking breathtaking views and seamless indoor-outdoor living. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to create functional and aesthetically pleasing multipurpose spaces within homes, catering to the needs and preferences of homeowners. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Chilean Hillside Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-three-heights.md) - [Stilts-Reading Suspended Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-hole-with-the-house-around.md) - [Coastal Terraced Villas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/villa-bo.md) - [Limestone Plinth Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clifftop-house.md) - [Hillside Embedded Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-the-slope.md) - [Landscape-Integrated Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-by-the-grove.md) - [Residential Mountain Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avber-house.md) - [Concrete Brutalist Hilltop Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pedro-domingos-arquitectos.md) - [Faceted Cedar Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-house-on-a-hill.md)
