Before heading out on your hike, you can enter the details of your [planned trip](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/time-on-trails) -- where you're going, what route you plan to take, when you intend to return and so on -- before sharing that information with a so-called 'Safety Circle' of well-wishers and contacts. When you safely finish your hike, you can press the 'End Trip' button to give your [family and friends peace of mind](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snapchat-home-safe) that you've successfully and safely finished your trek. Ultimately, Cairn is an app that offers peace of mind. Anything can go wrong in even the most seemingly benign hike, so this app is a great way for you to let your family and friends keep tabs on your movements and safety. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 28% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Mobile](https://www.trendhunter.com/mobile) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Hiking Safety Apps:** Safety Apps like Cairn that allow hikers to keep family and friends updated and safe while hiking - **Personal Safety Apps:** Personal safety apps like Cairn that cater to specific activities like hiking, camping, and outdoor sports are on the rise. - **Social Safety Circle Apps:** Social safety circle apps like Cairn that allow users to connect with friends and family when going on outdoor activities are the future of safety apps. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Outdoor and Adventure:** Outdoor and adventure industry can leverage technology and develop safety apps like Cairn that would enable them to provide a safe and enjoyable experience to their customers. - **Family Apps:** Family apps can incorporate safety features like those used in Cairn to provide useful and secure family features. - **Travel and Tourism:** Travel and Tourism industries can incorporate Cairn-like safety features into their services; thus, improving customer safety and satisfaction. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Family Safety Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/family-safety-app.md) - [Personal Safety Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/just-n-case.md) - [Women’s Safety Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/im-safe.md) - [Personal Safety Applications](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/citizen-app.md) - [Integrated Trail Navigation Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trail-navigation.md) - [Accessibility-Focused Nature Trail Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/able-active.md) - [Hiking Journal Trackers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/donder.md) - [Route-Making Running Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fitcrumbs.md) - [Offline Adventure Assistants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trailmate.md)
