The [wooden home](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-saidera) features a rectilinear form that stands out amidst the more traditional neighboring houses. Exit's Iban Caprintero explains, "This valley remains pretty conservative. In fact, this is the first house in the area that adopts a radical modern aspect, which was provocative for some neighbors." The timber material the house is made of was chosen for its affordability, as well as its ability to blend with the surrounding area, known as a center for wood production. In fact, fir wood is the most common local wood for the area. Similarly, the [flat roof](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tallowwood-cabin) that differentiates the house from the others was more cost-efficient, as well as more modern. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 28% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Radical Modern Design:** Exploring unconventional, contemporary designs in traditional settings presents disruptive innovation opportunities for the architecture industry. - **Affordable Timber Construction:** Utilizing affordable and locally sourced timber materials has the potential to disrupt the construction industry by offering cost-effective and sustainable alternatives to traditional building materials. - **Blending with Surrounding Environment:** Creating buildings that seamlessly blend with their natural surroundings can disrupt the real estate industry by offering a harmonious and eco-friendly approach to architecture. ### Where This Applies - **Architecture:** The architecture industry can take advantage of the trend for radical modern design to offer unique and innovative solutions for clients. - **Construction:** The construction industry has an opportunity to tap into affordable timber construction methods and eco-friendly materials to revolutionize the way buildings are constructed. - **Real Estate:** Real estate developers can incorporate the trend of blending with the surrounding environment to create sustainable and visually appealing properties that stand out in the market. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Residential Mountain Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avber-house.md) - [Geometric Timber Holiday Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amunt.md) - [Mountain Courtyard Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ski-house.md) - [Sustainable Cubic Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/appels-architekten.md) - [Sleek Modular German Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-anton-ii.md) - [Contemporary Ski Home Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/traditional-ski-chalet.md) - [Log Cabin-Inspired Minimal Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/restua.md) - [Trapezoidal Concrete Forest Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ksa-studen.md) - [Nature-Nestled Mountain Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/console-house.md)
