The spacious home is the epitome of [minimalism](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaulted-monochrome-haus) and is designed by architect John Pawson. Synonymous with simplistic design details, Pawson's creations are often bathed with natural light and reject heavy ornamentation. This Highgate Road home is no exception and features an [all-white decor style](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grigio-verde). The residence boasts one bedroom, a linear kitchen that is accented with warm wood finishes -- mirroring the apartment's staircase -- along with an open living room that features a lengthy and industrial dining area. This simplistic urban home even features an [outdoor balcony area](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/primrose-apartment) and is a hideaway that is clean and understated in its look. Though industrial, the home's warmth is a result of its skylights and open space plan that attracts the sun's glowing rays. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 80% | Activity: 71% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Minimalist Living:** Designing spacious homes with minimalistic styles allows architects to create a sanctuary of simplicity and comfort for residents. - **Natural Light Immersion:** Maximizing natural lighting in homes provides a healthier and more inviting living environment that also reduces energy consumption. - **Sustainable Homes:** Designing environmentally-friendly homes that adopt features that reduce the need for artificial lighting and heating creates a more responsible and cost-efficient living environment. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Construction Industry:** Builders and architects can use the clean slate of minimalist architectural designs to experiment with new building materials and design features that enhance functionality and sustainability of homes. - **Interior Design Industry:** Innovative interior decoration and design techniques that maximize natural light sources and incorporate sustainable materials can create unique living spaces that enhance wellbeing and aesthetics for homeowners. - **Renewable Energy Industry:** Incorporating renewable energy features into home designs can reduce energy consumption and improve cost-saving measures for homeowners while also providing more opportunities for renewable energy companies to showcase their products and solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Gallery-Like Minimal Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daytrip-2.md) - [Lofty Minimalist Living Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-living-space1.md) - [Compact White-Painted Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whitepainted-modern-home.md) - [Minimal Philosophy Toronto Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-hill-residence.md) - [Serene Timeless Minimal Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-hkarn.md) - [Peaceful Sophisticated Minimal Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cranleigh-lodge.md) - [Minimal Japanese Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-kyobate.md) - [Monochromatic Minimal Cozy Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaulted-monochrome-haus.md) - [Reimagined Edwardian Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gunter-and-co.md)
