Instead of using the common doormat or garden gnome to protect the whereabouts of such a door opener, people can simply stash them in an [innocent avian abode](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dwellings-project). A great solution, the floor of the Hide-a-Key Birdhouse opens up to reveal [number of hooks for various keys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/advanced-rekey), not just the obvious one. The bottom is easily shut by way of a magnet. Designed by Looker Inc, the Hide-a-Key Birdhouse is not just a [realistic birdhouse](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ori-bird), it can easily be used as one especially if emergency keys aren't used on a regular basis. The design is also conveniently forgettable. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 42% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Smart Home Security:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop birdhouse-like smart devices that use advanced security features to store keys. - **Inconspicuous Key Storage:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create discreet key storage solutions that blend seamlessly into the environment, providing a secure and inconspicuous place for emergency keys. - **Multi-purpose Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design versatile birdhouse-like products that serve multiple functions, such as key storage and birdhouse. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Security:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate key storage solutions into the existing home security systems for enhanced convenience and safety. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with interior designers to create aesthetically pleasing key storage solutions that complement various home decor styles. - **Pet Accessories:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Partner with pet accessory companies to develop birdhouse-like products that serve as both key storage and bird feeders, enhancing the overall functionality and appeal. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Home Exterior Nesting Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/numbird.md) - [Interactive Observation Wooden Birdhouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/domik-ptashki.md) - [Minimal Bird-Watching Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hide-cabin.md) - [Dual-Camera Birdhouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/birdfy-nest.md) - [Educational Linoleum Birdhouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elvi-birdhouse.md) - [Welcome Gift Design Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/earths-hatch-kit.md) - [Makeup-Hiding Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elfs-cosmetic-security-line.md) - [Birdcage-Inspired Smart Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bird-intelligent-sound-box.md) - [Stealthy Smart Garden Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wonder-block.md)
