This stylish home is surrounded by large boulders and rolling green hills. The stone from the surrounding boulders has actually been incorporated into the home itself. This [modern concrete abode](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/el-pastizal) can be found off of the San Juan Islands. This one of a kind camouflaged dwelling is a single-storey home, filled with elegant fixtures and modern appliances. On the inside, this concrete home [looks a bit like a castle](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hollywood-hills-house-1). It features a large stone fireplace, extravagant lighting fixtures and a rustic dining room set. The roof of the house is coated in lush green grass, which also helps to keep this home hidden. This charming island abode literally allows people to live between a rock and a hard place, which is pretty cool when you think about it. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 34% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Camouflaged Architecture:** Innovative concealed designs for buildings and homes allow for unique and eco-friendly structures. - **Nature-inspired Decor:** Designing spaces that incorporate natural surroundings and materials creates unique, inviting environments. - **Sustainable Building:** Building with the environment in mind creates energy-efficient, eco-conscious structures. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture:** Incorporating natural surroundings into home designs allows for unique and sustainable living spaces. - **Decorating:** Bringing the outdoors inside with nature-inspired decor creates a cozy and inviting living space. - **Construction:** Building homes with sustainable materials and energy-efficient designs benefits the environment while also creating unique and long-lasting structures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wooden Surrounded Concrete Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omer-arbel.md) - [Scattered Boulder-Inspired Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rockbound.md) - [Hillside Concrete Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concrete-house-1.md) - [Hillside Cantilevered Concrete Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/olancha-drive.md) - [Raw Concrete Industrial Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-nishizaki.md) - [Landscape-Blending Concrete Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/el-pastizal.md) - [Local Stone-Clad Coastal Shelters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caochan-na-creige.md) - [Angled Concrete Forest Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/block-wall-house.md) - [Contemporary Adaptable Concrete House](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/binocular-house.md)
