Designing this unique-looking [metal-clad exterior house](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stealth-house) in Ōita Prefecture in a way that may seem cold from the outside, the architect has the ultimate secret on the inside: a hidden garden away from prying eyes. Kenta situated the house in-between a residential neighborhood and a grassy plain, so the house was elusive at the front and open at the back overlooking the greenery. "Raising a large opening on the south side allows lighting and ventilation into the house, but also ensures [privacy from the neighbouring houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clifton-house)," says Kenta. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 32% | Activity: 12% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Hidden Garden Design:** This trend explores the integration of secret gardens into architectural designs, providing a private and serene outdoor space. - **Metal-clad Exterior:** The use of metal-clad exteriors in housing design offers a unique and modern aesthetic, adding an element of novelty and visual appeal. - **Privacy Innovation:** The concept of privacy innovation focuses on creative solutions that elevate privacy while maintaining functionality and aesthetics in living spaces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture:** Architects have the opportunity to incorporate hidden gardens and metal-clad exteriors into their designs, providing clients with innovative and personalized living spaces. - **Real Estate:** Real estate developers can explore the market demand for homes that feature unique design elements like hidden gardens and metal-clad exteriors to differentiate their properties and attract potential buyers. - **Home Decor and Outdoor Living:** The home decor and outdoor living industry can create products and solutions that cater to the growing interest in hidden gardens and privacy innovations, offering customers a range of options to enhance their living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Garden Oasis Renovated Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hidden-garden-house.md) - [Light-Filled City Center Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/secret-garden-2.md) - [Garden-Nestled Luscious Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hidden-villa.md) - [Hidden Resort Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stealth-1.md) - [Award-Winning London Garden Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/secret-garden-flat.md) - [Lush Garden-Focused Melbourne Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gardeners-house-1.md) - [Living Landscape Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hedge-and-arbour-house.md) - [Garden-Connecting Melbourne Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/splinter-society.md) - [Plant-Filled Latticed Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/touching-eden-house.md)
