There is no right way to set up the [ladder-like structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pli-steel-wall-shelf) in your home or office; instead, the user is afforded great freedom with how he might like each of the different pieces to be fastened together. Three principle wooden poles come in the kit, each with a rubber cap on the bottom to prevent the [whimsical storage system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tumba) from slipping on the floor. There are five shorter segments that work well as horizontal elements, creating frames, ledges and backings for the other components. Hooks, baskets, a peg board and a lightbulb on a pulley can all be incorporated into Ryan Harc's HH Platform Furniture by means of [rubber and cement screws](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arca). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 92% | Activity: 69% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Customizable Furniture:** The trend of customizable furniture allows consumers to have more control and creativity in designing their own unique pieces. - **Modular Shelving:** Modular shelving systems offer the flexibility to easily assemble and disassemble shelving units according to individual needs and preferences. - **DIY Home Decor:** The trend of do-it-yourself home decor enables individuals to personalize their living spaces by creating and arranging furniture and accessories to reflect their personal style. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The furniture manufacturing industry can capitalize on the customizable furniture trend by offering design options that cater to individual preferences and creative needs. - **Home Improvement:** The home improvement industry has the opportunity to tap into the modular shelving trend by providing easy-to-install and versatile shelving systems that can be customized based on user requirements. - **Craft and Hobby Retail:** Craft and hobby retail stores can benefit from the DIY home decor trend by offering a wide range of materials, tools, and resources for individuals to create their own unique furniture and decor pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modular Contemporary Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qurv.md) - [Adaptable Flat-Pack Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-pack-shelving.md) - [Wooden Modular Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deku.md) - [Jigsaw Puzzle-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/puzzle-shelf.md) - [Customizable Style-Conscious Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ledoux-modular-shelf-system.md) - [Modular Storage Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/original-modern-shelving.md) - [L-Shaped Stacked Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loft-shelf.md) - [Abstract Jigsaw-Like Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spectator-shelf.md) - [Modular Organized Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unit-shelving-system.md)
