Brought to you by the same person who designed the [Tennis Ball Chair](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hugh-hayden-creates-tennis-ball-chair), the bed is by someone who probably has a fixation with the sport! That someone is Hugh Hayden. Made from [recycled tennis balls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/point-tennis) -- although they look brand new -- the Hex Tennis Dog Bed is as [eco-friendly](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/biting-edge-1) as it is pet-friendly. The bed retails at $285; I just have to wonder if it's comfortable. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 13% | Activity: 30% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/pets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Eco-friendly Pet Products:** The pet industry can innovate by creating new environmentally friendly products for pets and pet owners alike, such as recycled tennis ball pet beds like the Hex Tennis Dog Bed. - **Sports-inspired Pet Products:** There is an opportunity for pet accessory companies to incorporate sports and athletic themes into their products, like the Hex Tennis Dog Bed, to appeal to pet owners who are also sports fans. - **Upcycling as a Design Trend:** Upcycling unused items like old tennis balls can become a popular design trend that companies can jump on to create unique and eco-friendly products, like the Hex Tennis Dog Bed. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Pet Accessories:** Pet accessory companies can incorporate eco-friendly and sporty themes into their product lines to differentiate themselves, as seen with the Hex Tennis Dog Bed. - **Sustainability:** Companies in the sustainability industry can partner with pet accessory companies to create unique and eco-friendly products like the Hex Tennis Dog Bed that benefit both pets and the environment. - **Athletic Goods:** Companies in the athletic goods industry can expand their product lines to include pet accessories like athletic-inspired beds, like the Hex Tennis Dog Bed, that cater to pet owners who are also sports fans. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Geodesic Dome Dog Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/domehome-dog-bed.md) - [Signature Dog-Friendly Tennis Balls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tennis-balls-for-dogs.md) - [Zero-Gravity Dog Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hover-dog-bed.md) - [Comfy Sofa-Inspired Pet Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sofa-pet-bed.md) - [Comfortable Orthopedic Dog Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orthopedic-pet-bed.md) - [Multi-Use Dog Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-human-dog-bed.md) - [Upcycled Sock Dog Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/k9-camp-cushion.md) - [Dynamic Patterned Pet Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leo-bed.md) - [Oil Drum Dog Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/indusigns-dog-bed.md)
