This supercharged rental was created by Hertz and [Penske Racing](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/Multiple-Dealerships), the [NASCAR](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/speed-champions-1) team. It is a hybrid of the Shelby GT500 Mustang and the Laguna Seca model. This rental is more of a racer, and it comes equipped with a new air intake and exhaust, a computer reflash and [Brembo](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eccentrica-v12) brakes. Surprisingly, this isn't the first time Hertz has created a special Mustang. This happened before in 1966, 2006 and again in 2007. The Hertz Penske GT will be available for $180 a day or $800 a week. It will be offered at 15 Hertz airport locations around the country. Business trips will never be boring again. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.2/10 - Popularity: 18% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Special Edition Rental Cars:** Car rental companies collaborating with manufacturers to offer unique and custom experiences to renters - **Performance Rental Cars:** Rentals offering higher performance and specialty cars to attract a niche customer base - **Luxury Rental Cars:** High-end rental options for short-term use by individuals looking to drive and experience top-of-the-line vehicles ### Sectors Adopting This - **Car Rental Industry:** Companies within the car rental industry can collaborate with manufacturers to offer special limited edition rental cars - **Automotive Industry:** Manufacturers can offer special editions of vehicles to rental companies as a marketing tool to attract buyers - **Tourism Industry:** Offering luxury rental options for travelers to experience the area in a unique and fashionable way ## Related on Trend Hunter - [High-Performance Sports Car Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/2024-ford-mustang-gtd.md) - [Retro-Inspired Mustangs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mustang-shelby-gt500-heritage.md) - [Convenience Store-Themed Automobiles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/7-eleven-ford-mustang.md) - [Inaugural Custom Mustang Ranges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/custom-mustang.md) - ['60s-Era Throwback Supercars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alan-mann.md) - [Luxury Car Rental Services](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxury-car-rental-montreal.md) - [Expertly Tuned SUV Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hennessey-ford-bronco-velociraptor.md) - [Fast-Charging Electric Mustangs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/1967-ford-mustang-fastback.md) - [All-Electric Performance Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelby-mustang-mache-gt-concept.md)
