Brooklyn-based headphone manufacturer, [Grado](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grado-labs-sr80x), recently expanded its collection of premium, [eco-friendly headphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fairbuds-xl-gen-2) with the introduction of the new Hemp Headphones. Crafting using the brand's iconic design, the high-end headphones feature hemp-based ear cups that offer both sonic and sustainable advantages. According to the company's VP, Jonathan Grado, “The highly compressed hemp creates a damping effect between their fibers. This produced a fuller sound and we were pleasantly surprised with the amount of depth we heard.”

In addition, the Hemp Heaphone's ear pads are crafted from foam — as opposed to leather or other synthetic materials — and feature an [open design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hifiman-he1000-unveiled) that makes use of resonating materials to create its "signature" sound. To ensure the response is more consistent, the brand employed Maple wood into the mix.
