# Convenient Combination Devices The Helmet Lock Lets Cyclists in a Hurry Quickly Secure Their Bikes By Alyson Wyers | Published 2014-09-20 | Autos Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/helmet-lock References: [springwise](http://www.springwise.com/add-on-turns-bike-helmets-lock/) & [cappuccinolock](http://www.cappuccinolock.com) This handy helmet lock turns the straps of your helmet into a bike lock. Created by Lazer, the Cappuccino Lock is an add-on gadget that allows bike riders to quickly lock both pieces. The Belgian swimwear company had speedy lock-ups in mind, like when a cyclist has to run into a shop fast and doesn't want to go through the whole process of locking up their bicycle, but also doesn't want to leave it unprotected. The helmet lock is a pocket-sized device that will work with any helmet with standard fasteners. When stopped, users can attach the combination lock to one strap of the helmet, loop it through a bar on their bike and fasten it on the other side. The invention offers some security, but does not replace a full metal lock. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 34% | Activity: 72% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Combination Devices for Convenience:** The trend of creating combination devices for convenience, like the Cappuccino Lock, presents opportunities for businesses to explore new combinations and add-ons to existing products. - **Modified Accessories for Security:** The trend of modifying common accessories for added security, like the Cappuccino Lock for helmets, presents an opportunity for innovative updates to other products in different industries. - **Compact Security Accessories:** The trend of creating compact security accessories, like the Cappuccino Lock, presents an opportunity for businesses to come up with small, affordable and easy-to-use security solutions for various situations. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Bicycles and Accessories:** The bicycle industry can benefit from creating more add-on products to make the cycling experience more convenient, like the Cappuccino Lock for helmets. - **Outdoors and Sports:** Industries related to outdoor activities and sports can benefit from creating more compact and innovative security solutions, like the Cappuccino Lock. - **Fashion and Accessories:** The fashion and accessory industry can explore adding extra security features to everyday products like bags, shoes and clothing, like the Cappuccino Lock for helmets. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Helmet-Secured Bike Prototypes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/on-board-helmet.md) - [Discreet Connected Bike Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/laas-olock.md) - [Three-in-One Bike Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multifunctional-bike-lock.md) - [Flatpack Cyclist Safety Equipment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-helmet-concept.md) - [Collapsible Ultra-Secure Bike Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-lock.md) - [Inflatable Accordion-Style Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ventete-ah1.md) - [Slap-Band-Inspired Bike Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slapstick-smart-bicycle-lock.md) - [Foldable Light-Integrated Bike Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fend-super-bike-helmet.md) - [Alarm-Equipped Laptop Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antitheft-laptop-device.md)
