# Geometric Furniture Bases The Hedron Coffee Table by Benjamin Migliore is Sculptural By Meghan Young | Published 2014-02-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hedron-coffee-table References: [plusmood](http://plusmood.com/2014/02/hedron-coffee-table-benjamin-migliore/) & [benjaminmigliore](http://www.benjaminmigliore.com/project_hedron_cf.html) The Hedron Coffee Table is a stunning lesson in geometry and how it can be applied in the most creative of ways to everyday objects. Although this has been going on for the last few months, this design has a particularly raw quality about it that embraces the basic form beautifully. In fact, the base of the Hedron Coffee Table could easily be mistaken for oversized chemistry props. Designed by Benjamin Migliore, a French-Argentinien designer based in Barcelona, Spain, the Hedron Coffee Table is made out of wood. It uses the same construction method as his previous [Octahedrons stool](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/octahedrons-by-benjamin-migliore), right down to the same same connecting joints. Overall, the Hedron Coffee Table has a minimalist appeal that is also very sculptural. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 94% | Activity: 50% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Geometric Furniture Bases:** Designing furniture with geometric bases creates a visually stunning and sculptural appeal. - **Raw and Minimalist Design:** Embracing raw and minimalistic design elements adds a unique and appealing quality to furniture. - **Geometry in Everyday Objects:** Applying geometry creatively to everyday objects can transform their aesthetic and functionality. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers can explore the use of geometric bases to create unique and visually appealing designs. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate furniture with raw and minimalist design elements to create modern and stylish spaces. - **Home Decor Retail:** Home decor retailers can source and sell geometric furniture bases to cater to consumers looking for unique and artistic pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dynamic Coffee Table Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ryb-coffee-table.md) - [Pointed Foundation Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/donatas-ukauskas.md) - [Harmonious Helical Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vortex-coffee-table.md) - [Bent Steel Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/creu-coffee-table.md) - [Fluid Topographic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-table.md) - [Topographic Wooden Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/topographic-coffee-table.md) - [Raw Stone-Inspired Jagged Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fels-coffee-table.md) - [Dynamic Strong Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sharp-table.md) - [Möbius Strip-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mbelius-coffee-table.md)
