Taking advantage of the [Halloween holiday](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/halloween-essentials), the HealthExpress Stoptober Campaign created quite the scare thanks to the use of a few [disturbing masks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urban-decay-x-m3gan). Yet these masks were not typical of Halloween. Instead of channeling Mike Myers, Obama or even more of a standard option, these masks channeled the look of an aged smoker.

Actors wore these masks, which were afflicted with diseases like [mouth and throat cancers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/specsavers-campaign), macular degeneration, and periodontal disease, in order to drive home the message that smoking is detrimental to people's health. Although dramatic, the HealthExpress Stoptober Campaign is a great visual for those who live in denial about their addiction. It will be travelling throughout the United Kingdom, visiting cities known to have high smoking populations. Hopefully people turn a new leaf.
