In fact, society tends to discourage skateboarders from doing their thing by handing out tickets and chasing boarders off of properties. These photos by Harold Hunter depict the alternative sport in a whole new way. Set in black and white, Hunter perfectly captures the boarders doing stunts in the air for a stunning effect. His photos perfectly capture the moment from the trick, right down to the fashion and setting. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.9/10 - Popularity: 42% | Activity: 96% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Alternative Sports:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating technology and equipment that supports alternative sports. - **Black and White Photography:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in evolving black and white photography technology to capture better contrast and depth. - **Action Photography:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in developing technology that makes the capture of action shots easier and more accessible for beginners. ### Who This Affects Most - **Sporting Goods:** Opportunity for the sporting goods industry to develop equipment and accessories specifically for alternative sports. - **Photography:** Opportunity for the photography industry to evolve technology that enables better capture of contrast and depth in black and white photography. - **Technology:** Opportunity for the technology industry to develop more accessible and user-friendly equipment and software for capturing action shots. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Skateboard-Themed Photography Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rabbit-hole-1.md) - [Skateboarding Heritage Collection](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/united-through-skateboarding.md) - [Anniversary-Celebrating Arty Skateboard Decks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stevie-williams1.md) - [Skateboard-Inspired Stamp Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skateboard-inspired-stamp-collection.md) - [Unity-Promoting Family Skate Decks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/family-skate.md) - [Skate Photography Collaboration](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polaroid-x-thrasher.md) - [Pop Art Skateboard Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-skateroom-1.md) - [Iconic Pop Art Skateboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skateroom-x-andy-warhol-foundation.md) - [Social Change-Promoting Skateboarding Programs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saved-by-skateboarding.md)
