# Breezy Webbed Wardrobes The Harold Cabinet Obscures its Contents Subtly with Meshy Metal Walls By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-05-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/harold-cabinet References: [leibal](http://leibal.com/furniture/harold/) & [jessevisser](http://www.jessevisser.com/harold/sl0xl0zx9xb9b7qtevlp1sq9k4d31o) The charming Harold Cabinet is caught somewhere between an open clothes rack and a [closed armoire](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/obelisk-3). It enables one to see its contents upon approach, yet it masks a potentially messy arrangement with the subtle screening effect of a [fine metal mesh](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sfso-1). Designed by Jesse Visser, the generous cupboard measures 190 centimeters in height, 125cm in width, and it's 50cm deep. It can contain a [closet rail for hanging clothes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drobe-luggage), or several levels of shelves as an alternative. It's suitable for the home and for the workplace. Despite the industrial quality of its constitution, the Harold Cabinet has a softness about it. The storage system has lovely rounded corners and edges, plus long slanted footings that reinforce its lightness. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 79% | Activity: 26% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Meshy Metal Storage:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new materials and designs for storage solutions that combine openness with subtle screening effects. - **Multi-functional Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create versatile furniture pieces that can serve multiple purposes, such as a closet rail or shelves. - **Industrial Design with Soft Touch:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Merge industrial aesthetics with softer elements to create visually appealing storage solutions. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate meshy metal materials into furniture manufacturing processes to create unique and contemporary designs. - **Home Organization:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative storage solutions for homes that optimize space and offer visual appeal. - **Office Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design office storage systems that combine functionality with modern aesthetics to enhance workplace efficiency. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Miniature Sanitized Cabinet Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yujin-lee.md) - [Connected Smart Home Closets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oloo-smart-wardrobe.md) - [Modular Storage Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-storage-cabinet.md) - [Narrow Space-Saving Wardrobes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alta-narrow.md) - [Tropical Island-Inspired Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/weaver-cabinet.md) - [Sanitizing Organizational Clothing Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clothing-cabinet1.md) - [Forest-Inspired Wooden Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hayashi-cabinet.md) - [Stylish Oakwood Storage Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moose-cabinet.md) - [Minimal Four-Legged Wooden Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/exposure-cabinet.md)
