When not in use as a [protective helmet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/poc-obex-connect-helmet), the +MET hat doubles up as [stylish plant pot](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/raindrop-1) so it can be kept on display in the home and in sight in case of need as its secondary function. The +MET project provides a way to keep safety equipment easily accessible and in sight for emergency situations. The hat's plastic design has a multitude of functional uses in the home or office, doubling as a [lamp shade or a planter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hemisphere). Then, if needed, the helmet can be worn as a hard hat to protect wearers' heads from falling objects in emergency situations such as earthquakes. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 22% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Multi-functional Safety Gear:** The +MET hat exemplifies the trend of multi-functional safety gear that can serve multiple purposes in different situations. - **Visible Emergency Equipment:** The +MET hat highlights the trend of making emergency equipment visible and easily accessible to improve response times during crises. - **Stylish Disaster Preparedness:** The +MET hat represents the trend of incorporating style and design into disaster preparedness products, making them more appealing and suitable for display in homes or offices. ### Who This Affects Most - **Safety Equipment Manufacturing:** The +MET hat opens up opportunities for the safety equipment manufacturing industry to create multi-functional products that can serve various purposes within different environments. - **Home Decor:** The +MET hat introduces a potential disruption to the home decor industry by blending functionality with aesthetics, allowing for the creation of integrated and visually appealing products. - **Emergency Response Services:** The +MET hat presents an opportunity for the emergency response services industry to explore ways to make emergency equipment more visible and accessible, improving response times and overall safety. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Smart Safety Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smarthat.md) - [Protective Earthquake Response Shields](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/testudo-shield-and-helmet.md) - [Smart Safety-Focused Hardhats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/connected-hard-hat.md) - [Oceanic Recycled Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shellmet-helmet.md) - [Convertible Full-Face Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/met-parachute-mcr-mips-helmet.md) - [Smart Industrial Hardhats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-communicator.md) - [Extreme Environment Hat Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vollebak-planet-earth-hat-v2.md) - [Flatpack Cyclist Safety Equipment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-helmet-concept.md) - [Solar-Powered Glow-in-the-Dark Hats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vollebak-solar-charged-hat.md)
