# Functional Attic Abodes Harbour Attic by Gosplan is Located in Genoa, Italy and Beyond Charming By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2013-03-28 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/harbour-attic-by-gosplan References: [homedsgn](http://www.homedsgn.com/2013/03/28/harbour-attic-by-gosplan/) & [gosplan.it](http://www.gosplan.it/) The idea of living in a scaled-down space like an [attic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foksal) might have some people feeling a little bit closed in, but the Harbour Attic by Gosplan design is expertly modelled to deliver all the necessary amenities to accommodate one or two people perfectly. Described as an exercise in making use of every inch, the designers explain, "That led to a custom-cut apartment, where each room is a furniture: after you have used it, you can close it.” What's created is a [small, but cozy and functional space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hirondelle-tiny-house) that rivals some of the most expansive homes I've come across. The Harbour Attic by Gosplan is located in a [small fishing village](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pretpec) in Camogil, which is located in the larger region of Genoa in Italy. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 72% | Activity: 63% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Small Space Living:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop innovative and efficient furniture solutions for compact living spaces. - **Multi-functional Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create versatile and adaptable furniture and room designs that maximize space utilization. - **Custom-cut Apartments:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Offer personalized and customizable apartment solutions that can be tailored to individual needs and preferences. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Embrace innovative materials and manufacturing processes to create space-saving and multi-functional furniture. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Provide creative and practical interior design solutions for small living spaces. - **Real Estate Development:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the potential of custom-cut apartments and niche housing concepts in the real estate market. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Elevated Garden Lofts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/attic-above-garden.md) - [Light-Filled Alpine Lofts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omarama-attic.md) - [Reinvented Compact Living](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/affordable-housing-prototype.md) - [Cleverly Designed Micro Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabanon.md) - [Smartly Designed Compact Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-apartments2.md) - [Thoughtful Micro Studio Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-studio-apartment.md) - [Inversion Living Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiny-getaway.md) - [Renovated Compact Loft Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vessel-project.md) - [Sleek Compact Floating Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blatto-boat.md)
