# Modern Tree Hospitality The Harad Treehotel Brings Back Childhood Memories By Matt Ho | Published 2011-01-10 | World Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/harad-treehotel References: [design-klub](http://www.design-klub.com/) & [treehotel.se](http://www.treehotel.se/en/start) I’ve never had a treehouse nor do I have the time to build one, which is why the Harad Treehotel really caught my eye. The hotel is located in a small village in northern Sweden and it's deep in the woods (not in some backyard). These aren’t your average [treehouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-nests-treepod-project) either; they have [beds, bathrooms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eriksberg-collection), and even a [rooftop terrace](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/more-cabin). The Harad Treehotel already have a handful of dorms available, but they are planning to expand to over 20 rooms in the future. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 81% | Activity: 83% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [World](https://www.trendhunter.com/world) > [Hip Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/hiphotels) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Luxury Treehouse Accommodations:** The trend of luxury treehouse accommodations offers an opportunity for the hospitality industry to provide unique and memorable experiences for travelers. - **Nature-inspired Resort Design:** The trend of nature-inspired resort design presents an opportunity for architects and designers to create harmonious structures that seamlessly blend with their surroundings. - **Sustainable Tourism:** The trend of sustainable tourism opens up opportunities for businesses to incorporate eco-friendly practices and cater to environmentally-conscious travelers. ### Who This Affects Most - **Hospitality:** The hospitality industry can capitalize on the trend of luxury treehouse accommodations by offering unique and premium experiences to cater to adventure-seeking travelers. - **Architecture and Design:** The architecture and design industry can explore the trend of nature-inspired resort design by creating innovative and visually appealing structures that blend seamlessly with the natural environment. - **Tourism and Travel:** The tourism and travel industry can embrace the trend of sustainable tourism by adopting eco-friendly practices, promoting responsible travel, and catering to the growing demand of environmentally-conscious travelers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Nature-Immersive Tranquil Resorts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/treehouse-villas.md) - [Solar Powered Luxe Treehouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-baltic.md) - [Contemporary Conservationist Treehouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sylvascope-treehouse.md) - [Artful Elevated Timber Treehouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/secret-camp.md) - [Vaulted Structural Telescopic Treehouse](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artistree-home.md) - [Cartoonish Tubular Treehouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tubular-treehouse.md) - [Tranquil Treetop Bali Resorts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lost-lindenberg.md) - [Tranquil Suspended Hanging Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ardh-architect.md) - [Repurposed Wooden Shoreside Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tree-house-by-the-lake.md)
