But unlike the typical blinds and cloth drapes used under the confines of a safe and dry roof, similar [outdoor decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inside-collection) can be much more creative. This is especially the case since materials need to be weather-proof in order to stay looking pretty. In this case, the Happening Curtain is made out of translucent porcelain. Designed by New York-based Jim Schatz, the Happening Curtain is comprised of 70 tear-shaped orbs that provide privacy quite like a beaded curtain. Hung on thin stainless steel wires, the Happening Curtain are made to order and come ready to mount. It can also be used as a [room divider](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/breeze-divider) or even as some [textured wall art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/curly-cube). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.7/10 - Popularity: 7% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Outdoor Porcelain Drapery:** Opportunity for innovative outdoor decor that is weather-proof and visually appealing. - **Translucent Porcelain:** Emerging trend of using translucent porcelain for unique and stylish home decor. - **Creative Room Dividers:** Growing demand for flexible and artistic room dividers that can also function as decorative pieces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in creating weather-proof and visually striking outdoor drapery. - **Artistic Design:** Opportunity for artists and designers to explore the use of translucent porcelain in home decor. - **Interior Design:** Innovative room dividers that double as decorative elements offer exciting possibilities in interior design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Theatrical Curtain-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sipario.md) - [Vibrant Modern Outdoor Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-grande-muraglia-outdoor.md) - [Illuminated Curtained Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/making-the-invisible-visible.md) - [Sculptural Room Screens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/morgen-screen.md) - [Creative Lighting Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drape-light.md) - [Perforated Light-Passing Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/circle-pavilion.md) - [Colorful Modular Outdoor Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mangas.md) - [Minimalist Outdoor Swings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-swing.md) - [Outdoor Pavilion Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/teepee-pavilion.md)
