For many families, pets are truly an additional family member that must be considered when making any decisions -- including interior design. A couple from Taiwan hired HAO Designs to create the perfect living space for themselves and for their [feline companion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tmraire). The design focused on creating a space that is both functional, comfortable and playful. The loft has a completely open-concept living room that creates a vast play area while being a community-focused space. The [polished concrete flooring](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nakano-house) displays an enhanced modern feel that runs throughout the entire apartment. While the open spaces give the feline a place to roam, there is also an [abundance of shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neko-yama). This provides a convenient place for toys and tickets that would otherwise get in the way. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 65% | Activity: 43% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Feline-friendly Design:** Designing living spaces that prioritize the comfort and playfulness of pets, particularly cats. - **Open-concept Living:** Creating living spaces with open floor plans, allowing for more room and flexibility for pets and their owners. - **Creative Shelving Solutions:** Utilizing innovative shelving designs to provide convenient and clutter-free storage options for pet-related items. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** Opportunities for interior designers to specialize in creating pet-friendly living spaces that cater to the unique needs of pets and their owners. - **Pet Products:** Potential for the development of specialized pet products and furniture that prioritize the comfort and well-being of pets. - **Home Renovation:** Opportunities for renovation companies to offer pet-centric home design solutions for individuals and families with pets. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Vertical Feline Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-tree-house-2.md) - [Feline-Focused Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-tree-house-1.md) - [Cat-Catered Large Japanese Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-cat-tree-house.md) - [Cat-Friendly Seat Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jingcyuan-tang.md) - [Cityscape-Like Cat Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mocats.md) - [Cat-Focused Wooden Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tristy-of-the-cats.md) - [Modular Feline-Friendly Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-couch-concept.md) - [Pet-Catered Sleek Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/papuk.md) - [Modular Cat-Friendly Couches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quarter-sofa.md)
