# Hanging Beds Space Saving Comfort By Howard Wu | Published 2008-08-01 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hanging-beds-space-saving-comfort References: [frogview](http://www.frogview.com/show1.php?file=4186) These space-saving beds are a pretty good innovation in any area of the home. As pictured here, they can be used in a bedroom, yard, or even a patio. The main indoor benefit is the economic use of space, much like a [wall-mounted Murphy bed](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallmounted-cafe-table), except that this one mounts to the ceiling. Cleaning underneath the bed has never been easier. With [multiple suspension strings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anymaka-hammock-tent), the beds appear to be quite stable, although I'm sure there are several methods of testing their durability. The [circular shape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roundish-bed) is a also a nice touch as well for these "bed swings". ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.0/10 - Popularity: 89% | Activity: 84% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Ceiling-mounted Beds:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create more comfortable and stylish designs to provide better sleeping experiences in smaller spaces. - **Circular-shaped Beds:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore creative circular-shaped designs that combine style and functionality for indoor and outdoor comfort. - **Bed Swings:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop more durable and affordable bed swing designs for both indoor and outdoor spaces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Industry:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Invest in research and development to create more space-saving and stylish furniture designs for small living spaces. - **Interior Design Industry:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate ceiling-mounted and circular-shaped bed designs in home decor ideas, especially in small apartment and condo spaces. - **Outdoor Living Industry:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine outdoor comfort and style with circular-shaped bed swing designs, adjustable canopy options, and durable material selections. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Overhead Storage Single Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/otto-cobbo-bed.md) - [Open-Concept Clothing Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bauhutte-clothes-hanger-rack.md) - [Timber Sun-Inspired Pet Perches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/myzoo-solar.md) - [Sliding Desk-Equipped Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boomerang-bed.md) - [Reversible Mid-High Bed Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-eyes-bed.md) - [Minimalist Outdoor Swings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-swing.md) - [Artsy Hanging Plants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-air-plant-mobile.md) - [Inversion Living Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiny-getaway.md) - [Peaceful Geometric Hanging Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iko-hanging-chair.md)
