# Floor-Stored Beds This Handy Storage System Allows a Child’s Room to Transform from Play to Rest By Ady Floyd | Published 2015-09-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handy-storage References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2015/09/09/design-detail-the-beds-slide-under-a-raised-floor-in-this-kids-room/) & [en.yakusha.ua](http://en.yakusha.com.ua/) Ukrainian architect Viktoriya Yakusha created this incredibly handy [storage system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brickbox-modular-shelving) that conceals beds directly in the floor. This unique concept has been installed in a [child's bedroom](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twiny-sofa-system), which was initially broken up into two levels. There is a single step installed into the bedroom, which is located in the middle of the room. The beds work just like an average [pull-out drawer](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apt-drawers). Located inside of the single step there are three beds that can be pulled out when it's bedtime, or simply time for a nap. Otherwise the bedroom is easily transformed into a massive game room. This handy storage idea combines play and rest into one simple concept. These floor-stored beds are perfect for converting a child's room into an activity space, but it can also be used in various other bedroom settings. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 38% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Floor-stored Beds:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Implementing floor-stored beds in hotel rooms to maximize space and offer flexible accommodation options. - **Bedroom Storage Systems:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing modular storage systems that can be integrated into bedrooms, providing a streamlined and efficient solution for organizing personal belongings. - **Multi-functional Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Designing furniture pieces that can serve multiple purposes, such as transforming from seating to sleeping surfaces, to optimize space utilization in small living areas. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating innovative storage and furniture solutions for interior designers to enhance functionality and aesthetics in residential and commercial spaces. - **Hospitality:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introducing floor-stored bed systems in luxury hotels to offer unique and customizable sleeping arrangements for guests. - **E-commerce:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Selling floor-stored beds and bedroom storage systems online, tapping into the growing demand for space-saving and multi-functional furniture among consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Reversible Mid-High Bed Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-eyes-bed.md) - [Modular Childhood Bed Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rocksolid-bed-system.md) - [2-in-1 Toddler Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piccalio-bedbed.md) - [Ultra-Modern Bunk Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flexy-junior-bed.md) - [Youth Gamer Bunk Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gaming-bunk-bed.md) - [Hidden Murphy Bed Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tonale-murphy-bed.md) - [Sliding Desk-Equipped Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boomerang-bed.md) - [Fold-Out Furniture London Flats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/florin-court-flat.md) - [Modular Childhood Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crib-concept.md)
