# Humorous Hand Headsets The Handiheadset Turns the Call Me Gesture into a Working Phone By M | Published 2014-06-23 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handiheadset References: [likecool](http://www.likecool.com/Handiheadset_is_a_Headset_That_Looks_Like_Your--Projects--Gear.html) & [kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/485759743/handiheadset) In a world where [tech-savvy gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perisphere) seem to be turning infinitely smaller and smaller as time goes on, the Handiheadset is an enormous headset shaped like a human hand. While this headset seems rather large and obnoxious to carry around, it would be fun to watch the reaction of people on the street as you took a call from a gigantic hand. [Kickstarter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elemik) designer Stephen Moore invented the Handiheadset based off of the [call me hand gesture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/human-controller) people tend to give other people when they would like the person to telephone them. This headset cleverly infuses a phone-like device inside the headset's extended pinky finger and thumb. Every time you go to answer a call it'll look as though you're speaking into an incredibly large hand. You can easily plug the Handiheadset into your smartphone with the audio jack. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 77% | Activity: 79% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Novelty Headset Accessories:** There is an opportunity to tap into a market of consumers who value uniqueness and humor in their tech accessories. - **Gesture-based Tech:** The success of the Handiheadset highlights a potential demand for technology that incorporates recognizable gestures and movements. - **Retro-inspired Tech:** Innovation can come from revisiting and putting a modern spin on older styles and designs, as seen with the incorporation of a retro hand gesture into a functioning phone accessory. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Consumer Electronics:** The Handiheadset showcases an opportunity to capitalize on individuals who want unique and eye-catching accessories for their smartphones. - **Fashion:** There is potential for collaboration between fashion and tech industries to create playful and trendy accessories like the Handiheadset. - **Entertainment:** The Handiheadset can be marketed and used as a prop in entertainment productions, such as movies and theatre productions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Retro Tech Speakerphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pop-phone.md) - [Adjustable French-Designed Headphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elemik.md) - [Gesture-Control Earpiece Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-galaxy-air-concept.md) - [Hybrid Wearable Headphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neckphone-tri.md) - [Acrylic Smartphone Addiction Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/methaphone.md) - [Gesture Control Smartphone Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rimo-phone-holder.md) - [Whimsical Desktop Microphone Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/talkie-desktop-microphone.md) - [Retro Tech Phone Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/native-union-pop-phone.md) - [Key-Typing Headgarments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gboard-cap.md)
