The handheld gaming company 'Retroid' launched replacement hall joystick modules for its Retroid Pocket 3 and 3+ devices. These joysticks use a magnetic sensing field to determine input rather than a mechanical connection. This means the products will not deteriorate or drift, even after years of regular use. Additionally, the sticks can always be recalibrated, or the deadzone can be increased, to remove potential drift that may arise.

The hall joystick module kit comes with two screwdrivers, replacement screws, a small guitar pick-like device, two joysticks, and a pair of tweezers. This includes everything the end user may need to complete the component replacement process, resulting in a dramatically improved device with more precise joystick inputs and a longer joystick life cycle.
