# Spherical Multimedia Controllers The 'Hale Orb' is a Remote for Browsing Photos and Video By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2017-06-05 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hale-orb References: [gadgetsin](http://gadgetsin.com/hale-orb-remote-lets-you-browse-photos-and-videos-on-a-tv.htm) & [indiegogo](https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/hale-orb-a-fun-new-way-to-share-photos-and-videos-video-photo#/) Browsing through your media with a traditional remote control consists of having to press various buttons, but the 'Hale Orb' changes this up with a design that is spherical and more stylish in aesthetic. The remote control consists of a design that lets users navigate through their photos and videos by simply turning the sphere and tapping on the exterior. This comes as a more organic and relaxed way to browse without having to rely on your tablet, smartphone or computer to view the photos. The 'Hale Orb' features a stylish wood exterior that makes it look like a decorative piece of artwork when not in use in order to let it blend seamlessly into your living room space. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 30% | Activity: 16% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Spherical Controllers:** The use of spherical controllers with innovative designs can revolutionize many types of remote controls or media centers. - **Organic Browsing Experience:** Creating an organic and intuitive browsing experience for media files through unique, physical interfaces can disrupt the current digital paradigm. - **Blendable Design:** Designing electronics with aesthetic and blendable materials can create more opportunities to integrate household electronics as decor pieces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Smart Home Industry:** Spherical controllers can be introduced in smart home devices as a unique interface option to control all electronics within a household. - **Media Industry:** Spherical controllers with easy-to-use navigation can streamline and enhance the user's experience in browsing and discovering new media content. - **Interior Design Industry:** Blendable designs in household electronics can provide more seamless integration of smart home devices into interior design, enhancing the aesthetic value of a space. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Intuitive Touchscreen Remote Controls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/touchsense-remote.md) - [Transforming TV Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/controller-and-remote.md) - [T-Shaped Remote Controls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sightless-remote-control.md) - [Unified Control Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-id360-touchstone.md) - [Spherically Designed Gaming Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cgamepad.md) - [Gaming Console Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playstation-media-remote.md) - [Configurable Concave-Button Remotes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-liza-remote.md) - [Gesture-Controlled Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spatial-touch.md) - [Universal Smart Remote Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/universal-smart-remote-controller.md)
