# Loss-Inspired Vases The Flower Holders by Hadar Glick is a Poetic and Philosophical Collection By Meghan Young | Published 2012-09-18 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hadar-glick References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/six-a-series-of-vases-inspired-by-memories-and-loss-by-hadar-glick/) Flowers and loss often go hand-in-hand; Hadar Glick has decided to marry the two in a poignant vase collection. Whether flowers are displayed during the funeral rite or they are given to someone in mourning to express condolences, Hadar Glick has channeled the thoughtfulness of such blooms in six stunning vase designs. A recent graduate of Holon Institute of Technology, Israeli designer Hadar Glick explores the poetic nature of vases and the flowers they hold. Empty vessels when not in use, his sculptural vases literally embody the idea of loss. They also symbolize death as the flowers held within wilt and fade with time. Nevertheless, the vases themselves will endure, carrying with them the memory of past flowers that have rested within them. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 47% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Loss-inspired Design:** Exploring ways to incorporate contemplative messaging into designs or products by evoking feelings of loss - **Memory-capturing Creations:** Developing products that create lasting memories and endure long after their initial use - **Poetic Object Design:** Creating functional objects that also serve as works of art inspired by poetry or philosophical concepts ### Who This Affects Most - **Floral and Funeral Services:** Innovating floral and memorial products that help people express their emotions during times of grief - **Home Decor:** Developing collections that help bring a sense of poignancy and meaning to everyday objects, such as vases, for personal use and gifting - **Art and Sculpture:** Exploring how art and sculpture can be used to capture the memory of loved ones and evoke strong emotions ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Delicate Colorful Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/delicate-colorful-vase.md) - [Personalized Floral Grid Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grid-vase.md) - [Nature-Inspired Colorful Glass Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anemona.md) - [Greenery-Inspired Textured Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leaf-textured-ceramic-vase.md) - [Sculpturally Provocative Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vibrant-sculptural-vase.md) - [Modern Totem-Like Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/totemlike-vases.md) - [Miniature Cylindrical Flower Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hanakubari.md) - [Sculptural Glass Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/navazi.md) - [Exquisite Circular Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/salt-vases.md)
