# Fertilization-Inspired Lights This Lamp from Design Studio 'h220430' is Inspired by Conception By David Ingram | Published 2015-10-28 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/h220430 References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2015/10/27/satoshi-itasaka-designs-the-birth-lamp/) & [h220430.jp](http://www.h220430.jp/works.html) This creative lamp from designer Satoshi Itasaka of Japanese design studio h220430 is inspired by human life. 'The Birth' lamp is made of many bulbs contained within a metal sphere highlighted by multiple cords extending from each bulb's base. The unique light fixture from h220430 studio can either be hung from its cords to act as a chandelier, or placed along its side to act as an unusual but eye-catching table lamp. The inspiration for the piece was based upon the idea of human life and its place within society. A mixture of loss of life from humanitarian crisis, along with the new reality of creating human life artificially, inspired Itasaka to rethink the idea of life itself. The lamp therefore is based upon the idea of the low-level electric current present within a fertilized egg. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 80% | Activity: 44% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Bio-inspired Lighting:** Opportunity for creating innovative lighting designs inspired by natural processes. - **Multi-functional Fixtures:** Opportunity to design lights that can be hung as chandeliers or placed as table lamps. - **Reflecting Human Experience:** Opportunity to explore lighting designs that symbolize and evoke human emotions and experiences. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** Innovative lighting designs can enhance the aesthetics and functionality of interior spaces. - **Art and Decor:** Light fixtures can serve as unique artistic expressions and decorative elements for homes and public spaces. - **Furniture Design:** Integration of lighting features into furniture pieces, creating a seamless blend of form and function. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Human Physio-Themed Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dif-lamp.md) - [Organic Light Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lapso.md) - [Task-Managing Dynamic Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fall-lamp-concept.md) - [Japanese-Inspired Sculptureal Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wonder-things.md) - [Medical Equipment-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pond-lamp.md) - [Calming Orb Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orb-lamp1.md) - [Bubble-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubbles-lighting-design.md) - [Naturally Inspired Digital Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magma-lamp.md) - [Silkworm-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phantom-lighting.md)
