# Straw Netting Jungle Gyms The Gyeonggi Children’s Museum is Made from Straws By Jamie Danielle Munro | Published 2014-03-29 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gyeonggi-childrens-museum References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2014/03/28/gyeonggi-childrens-museum-climbing-gym-by-luckey/) & [luckeyclimbers](http://www.luckeyclimbers.com/) The jungle gym section in Gyeonggi Children’s Museum has a netted area surrounding it, which is made completely out of bendable straws. Kids can climb in from the top section of the design, and work their way down. While bendable straws and security don't seem to work well in the same sentence, the [netting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/entwined-objects) is surprisingly strong. Kids are able to climb down the large platforms within the net area, which are attached to a pole in the central area of the jungle gym. The objects that the children climb down almost look like colorful, oversized hockey pads. Although the gym inside the Gyeonggi Children’s Museum looks haphazard, it's very safe and children seem to love climbing through the structure. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 30% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Alpha - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Health](https://www.trendhunter.com/health) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Eco-friendly Playgrounds:** Designing playgrounds using materials that are sustainable and environmentally friendly, such as bendable straws, to create safe and unique experiences for children. - **Innovative Jungle Gyms:** Using unconventional materials, such as bendable straws, to create safer and more interactive jungle gyms for kids to play and climb on. - **Structural Toy Designs:** Developing new and creative ways to design toys and structures that prioritize safety, while also being visually engaging and fun for children to use and play with. ### Where This Applies - **Playground Manufacturing:** Companies that create playgrounds and jungle gyms can explore using eco-friendly, unconventional materials to improve the safety and design of their products. - **Toy Manufacturing:** Toy manufacturers can look into designing and developing new toys and structures using unconventional materials that prioritize safety and creativity for children. - **Childcare Services:** Childcare services can explore using innovative, eco-friendly playground designs to create unique experiences for children that prioritize safety and sustainability. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Structural Energetic Playgrounds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archipelago-playscape.md) - [Abstract Colorfully Vibrant Playscapes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wired-scape.md) - [Public Playground Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/welcome-little-stranger.md) - [Nature-Inspired Indoor Playgrounds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sarit-shani-hay.md) - [Explorative Artwork Playground Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cuddly-playground.md) - [Tent‑Filled Daycare Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deya-day-care.md) - [Children-Friendly Jiu-Jitsu Academies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jiujitsu-gym.md) - [Contemporary Playroom Features](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/randle-wall-climbing-handle.md) - [Children-Designed Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hi-ladders-high.md)
