# Conceptual Catography Gurbuz Dogan Eksioglu Shows Felines Have No Limits By Andrew Robichaud | Published 2009-06-30 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gurbuz-dogan-eksioglu References: [community.livejournal](http://community.livejournal.com/art_links/1478102.html) & [gurbuz-de](http://www.gurbuz-de.com/) We tend to dumb cats down to [house pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-cafe-beds) that move little, love a lot (sometimes) and hate dogs. But Gürbüz Doğan Ekşioğlu has taken the cats out of the home and put them wherever she pleases. This collection of feline photos turns [cats into trees](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lit-by-sht), [sheet music](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-music-box), paper mache, and even a beacon on a lighthouse. It’s a beautifully interesting look at a rather boring (for lack of a better term) animal that we encounter on a daily basis. Personally, I wish my cat was a beacon on a lighthouse (which would greatly help when I stumble home). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 70% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/pets) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Creative Depictions of Animals:** There is an opportunity for innovation in creating unique and unexpected depictions of animals in various media. - **Challenging the Perception of Familiar Animals:** Subverting conventional ideas of how animals are perceived could create new interest and intrigue. - **Exploring Unusual Aesthetic Combinations:** Incorporating animals into unexpected environments and artistic styles can create unique and visually striking results. ### Where This Applies - **Fine Art:** Artists and galleries could capitalize on creating and exhibiting unique animal depictions to stand out and appeal to a wider audience. - **Marketing and Advertising:** Brands could differentiate themselves by utilizing unusual animal depictions in their campaigns and branding. - **Publishing:** Books, magazines, and other print media could feature unique animal depictions to capture the reader's attention and stand out from traditional depictions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Pet-Catered Sleek Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/papuk.md) - [Cityscape-Like Cat Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mocats.md) - [Vertical Feline Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-tree-house-2.md) - [Contemporary Cat Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/connect-collection.md) - [Playful Cat Illustrations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/open-meow.md) - [Hybrid Feline-Friendly Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-cat-tower.md) - [Feline-Focused Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-tree-house-1.md) - [Customizable Feline Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meow-modular-cat-furniture.md) - [Cat-Friendly Seat Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jingcyuan-tang.md)
