# Rockin' Desk Lights Dan Leap's Guitar Lamps are Made Out of Actual Six Strings By Michael Hines | Published 2010-10-28 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/guitar-lamps References: [uniquedaily](http://uniquedaily.com/2010/10/guitar-lamp/) & [guitarlamp](http://www.guitarlamp.com/Rockstar.htm) What do you get when you mix a perfectly good guitar with a lampshade and a light bulb? You get Dan Leap's surprisingly badass guitar lamps. A guitar lamp sounds pretty cheesy at first, but Dan Leap's lamps aren't just guitars with light bulbs glued to them. These guitar lamps can be [dimmed or brightened](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tangent-lamp) by [strumming the string](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/harmoni), while the larger guitar lamp models have a base made out of a microphone stand. If you've been looking for a piece of furniture that rocks without being too corny, look no further than Leap's Guitar Lamps. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 38% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Guitar Lamps:** Combining guitars and lamps to create functional and decorative lighting options. - **Interactive Lighting:** Creating lighting solutions that can be controlled or varied in response to specific movements or interactions. - **Musical Furniture:** Integrating musical elements into furniture designs for a unique and functional twist. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** Developing creative lighting options and unique furniture pieces for consumers looking to add personality to their living spaces. - **Musical Instruments:** Incorporating non-traditional materials and functions into musical instruments to create products that stand out. - **Event Production:** Offering unique lighting and decor options for musicians and performers to enhance their stage presence and performances. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Instrument-Inspired Wall Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/louis-collection-by-sara-schoenberger.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Quirky Common Item Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/table-lamp-lighter.md) - [Gothic Wooden Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gothic-table-lamp.md) - [Colorful Geometric Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spot-on-desk.md) - [Bold Playful Lighting Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-lebow-table-lamp.md) - [Music-Inspired Glass Blown Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miles-pendant.md) - [Playful Brick-Born Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/analog-lamps-1.md) - [Fruit-Inspired Lighting Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/banana-lamp.md)
