Currently the subject of a crowdfunding campaign on [Kickstarter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/analog-effects-pedal), this accessory was inspired by legendary guitarist Steve Vai, who is known to have plucked the whammy bar right out of his guitar before whacking the strings during a solo. This guitar hammer takes the technique of hammer-ons in a literal sense, and allows you to strike individual or double string targets or all the strings at once for a hammered chord sound. Players can even get creative and use combination of single, double and multiple string hammer-ons, opening a whole new world of musical expression. Just like with conventional techniques, this [guitar hammer accessory](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/automatic-tuner) requires a great deal of patience and practice, but the end results are truly unique from a musical standpoint. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 5% | Activity: 38% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Guitar-hammering Techniques:** Exploring new ways to produce sound by striking the guitar strings with a hammer-like accessory. - **Innovative Musical Expressions:** Pushing the boundaries of traditional guitar playing by incorporating unconventional techniques. - **Crowdfunding for Musical Accessories:** Utilizing crowdfunding platforms to finance the development and production of innovative guitar accessories. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Music:** Opportunity for musicians and instrument makers to create and market innovative guitar accessories. - **Crowdfunding:** Providing a platform for individuals and businesses to source funding for unique musical inventions and accessories. - **Music Education:** Incorporating new guitar techniques into music education programs to inspire and challenge aspiring guitarists. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Button-Activated Guitar Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rockdreamer-guitarbar.md) - [Effect-Emitting Guitar Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/guitar-gadgets.md) - [Acoustic Guitar Bows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pickaso-guitar-bow.md) - [Electronic String Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/harmoni.md) - [Contactless Electromagnetic Guitar Picks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kinetic-remote-control-guitar-pick.md) - [Shreddable Steampunk Guitars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steampunk-guitar.md) - [Adjustable Guitar Equalizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mechanical-guitar-equalizer.md) - [Digitized Guitar Learning Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digital-guitar-tutor.md) - [Braille-Covered Electric Guitars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vitar-guitar.md)
