# Colorful Creature Furniture The Guillaumit Drawing Tables Expand Children's Imaginations By Meghan Young | Published 2012-01-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/guillaumit-drawing-tables References: [thetrendygirl.net](http://www.thetrendygirl.net/2012/01/les-tables-a-dessin-de-guillaumit.html) & [guillaumit.tumblr](http://guillaumit.tumblr.com/) The Guillaumit Drawing Tables will encourage children to indulge in their creativity and imaginations -- not that they often need much encouragement in that department. These furniture pieces are sure to expand their existing facilities for such play. Taking the forms of four cute creatures (a catepillar, duck, fish and fox), these tables will take them on adventures underwater, in the sky and everywhere in between. Designed by Guillaume Castagne, an illustrator, graphic designer and motion designer from France, the Guillaumit Drawing Tables combines his love of "geometric forms, rigid colour sheme and and funny cartoons characters," as stated on his website. Produced by Zebra 3, the Guillaumit Drawing Tables were created for an exhibition at the Espinoa gallery in Baignes, France. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 33% | Activity: 15% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Alpha - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Imaginative Furniture:** Designing furniture that expands children's imaginations and encourages creative play can be a disruptive innovation opportunity. - **Geometric-themed Design:** Creating products with rigid geometric shapes and color schemes can be a disruptive innovation opportunity. - **Cartoon Character-inspired Products:** Developing products that feature cartoon characters as their inspiration can be a disruptive innovation opportunity. ### Who This Affects Most - **Children's Furniture:** Designing imaginative furniture pieces for children can disrupt the children's furniture industry. - **Graphic Design:** Incorporating rigid geometric shapes and bold color schemes can disrupt the graphic design industry. - **Children's Toy Products:** Developing products inspired by cartoon characters can disrupt the children's toy products industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Playful Accent Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bug-table.md) - [Geometric Cutout Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/designated-table.md) - [Acrylic Multicolor Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lucid-side-tables.md) - [Dynamic Sculptural Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-transformation-table.md) - [Playful Toy-Like Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frunchroom-furniture-collection.md) - [Development Childhood Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/table-and-chair-set.md) - [Modular Chromatic Child Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kidzilla-chair.md) - [Quirky Cartoon-Like Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flash-furniture-series.md) - [Modern Customizable Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customizable-table-design.md)
