In the gallery above, I've chosen to highlight the work of Trevor O'Neil. Trevor O'Neil has created a number of home furniture designs for the Guerrilla Truck Show. The [pointy chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wood-chair-on-grass) is intended for home use, but is probably not appropriate for homes with young children due to its thorny nature. O'Neil's other work for the NeoCon show in Chicago includes a three-person [stone lounge chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fossil-furniture) and a sculptural illuminated table. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 28% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Sculptural Home Furniture:** Opportunities for creating unique and visually striking furniture pieces that also serve a functional purpose. - **Unconventional Design Elements:** Incorporating unexpected shapes, textures, and materials into furniture design to create a one-of-a-kind look. - **Child-safe Furniture:** Designing furniture that is safe for households with young children, while still maintaining an edgy and modern aesthetic. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Incorporating cutting-edge designs and materials to create unique and innovative furniture pieces. - **Home Decor:** Providing customers with bold and eye-catching furniture pieces that add a touch of personality to their homes. - **Interior Design:** Using unconventional pieces to elevate the design of a space and make a lasting impression on clients. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modern Design-Exploring Art Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pratone-chair.md) - [Ceiba Tree-Inspired Spiked Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceiba-series.md) - [Unexpected Boundary-Pushing Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atypical-chair.md) - [Artful Spikey Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chet-lo.md) - [Dynamic Joint Furniture Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/please-sit-for-the-alternate-ending.md) - [Mountain Atelope-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jomo-tariku.md) - [Unconventional Outdoor Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-joy-furniture.md) - [Dynamic Structural Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldont-chair.md) - [Self-Defence Tubular Inflatable Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/street-seat.md)
