'Bloom', by Society Creative, is a bike add-on that looks like an exhaust pipe, but it is actually a cool looking, seed carrying, bubble spewing machine! I love this...the, “seeds in the 'Bloom' device are packed into a vegetable-based soap mixture to create a 'nugget' that dissolves while pedaling. This seed nugget is placed in a reservoir inside the Bloom's aluminum housing, which is attached to the lower frame of the bike near the rear tire (similar to an exhaust pipe). As the cyclist pedals, air is swept in through the front of Bloom and in turn spins a pinwheel inside which picks up a small drop of the seed and bubble mixture. Bubbles result releasing seeds out the back as 'exhaust', which then becomes lodged in cracks and crevices throughout the city streets.” These tiny seeds will eventually grow and [green-up the streets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rijnvliet)! Although somewhat of a 'pipe dream', the visual is great... an [eco-friendly bicycle rider](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/urban-green) travelling blissfully down the road...her only emissions... flower seed bubbles! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.7/10 - Popularity: 57% | Activity: 77% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Urban Greening:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop bike accessories that promote urban greening by dispersing seeds in a creative and eco-friendly way. - **Alternative Transportation:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the potential of bicycles as a means to not only transport people but also to distribute plant seeds and contribute to environmental conservation. - **Eco-friendly Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design sustainable and visually appealing bike add-ons that serve a dual purpose of enhancing cycling experience and promoting environmental sustainability. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Sustainable Transportation:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop bicycle accessories and technologies that align with sustainable transportation initiatives and contribute to a greener future. - **Urban Planning:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with urban planners and city officials to incorporate guerrilla gardening initiatives into urban development plans, creating greener and more livable cities. - **Outdoor Recreation:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create innovative outdoor products and experiences that combine eco-friendly practices, physical activity, and nature preservation to attract environmentally-conscious consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Basket-Inspired Smart Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloom-engine-spot.md) - [Immersive Garden Bar Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/americas-first-botanical-garden.md) - [3D-Printed Reforestation Seed Balls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/disperseed.md) - [Grass-Scented Bubble Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wash-and-grow.md) - [Vibrant Dynamic Wall Plant-Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floos.md) - [Eco Colourful Flower Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grow-colors.md) - [DIY Bicycle Initiatives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-wooden-bicycle.md) - [Multifunctional Transport Buses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubblic-public.md) - [Indoor Gardening Glowing Petunias](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/firefly-petunia.md)
