# Forest-Buried Homes Privacy Reigns Above the City at the Guaruja House in Brazil By Andrew Robichaud | Published 2009-06-15 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/guaruja-house-brazil References: [swipelife](http://swipelife.com/2009/06/11/luxury-beach-house-in-brazil-by-bernardes-jacobsen/) & [bjaweb.br](http://www.bjaweb.com.br/) As the city gets more and more packed, the cottage is a get-away paradise for just about anyone (even if you are going to war with mosquitoes). The Guaruja House designed by Bernardes Jacobsen (Brazilian Architect) is an extremely [private summer home](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-de-praia) along the beautiful [hillside coast](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aip-azia-villa) of Sao Paulo. The house is filled with the environment around it, using [local vegetation as decoration](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-by-the-grove) and mood ornaments. There is an entire wall located at the back of the house that slides open to blend the home with nature. The Brazilian beauty boasts all domestic materials as well as a large swimming pool that mirrors the distant body of water. The Guaraja House is an escape from the clutter and an adventure into peace. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 53% | Activity: 41% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Privacy-oriented Architecture:** Opportunity for architects to design homes that prioritize privacy and incorporate natural elements as decoration. - **Integration of Indoor and Outdoor Spaces:** Opportunity for designers to create seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor areas, enhancing the connection to nature. - **Sustainable Luxury Homes:** Opportunity for builders and developers to construct eco-friendly, high-end residences that embrace the surrounding environment. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture:** Architects can incorporate privacy-focused and nature-inspired elements in their designs. - **Interior Design:** Designers can create harmonious indoor-outdoor spaces that bring nature into the home. - **Real Estate Development:** Builders and developers can capitalize on the demand for sustainable luxury homes that offer privacy and a connection to nature. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Discreet Modern Brazil Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jf-residence.md) - [Tranquil Brazilian Beach Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-mk27-2.md) - [Coastal Timber Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-guaec-project.md) - [Forest Edge House Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-guapuruvu.md) - [Harmonious Modern Beach Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-d31.md) - [Tranquil Argentinian Forest Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-house-1.md) - [Terraced Garden-Surrounded Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lechuza-house.md) - [Sleek Contemporary Brazilian Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/laguna-house.md) - [Forest Sanctuary Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sadowski-house.md)
