# Monkey-Raised Girls Grzegorz Welnicki Documents Sylvie's Life After She Was Found in the Wild By Meghan Young | Published 2010-09-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grzegorz-welnicki References: [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/INTO-THE-WILD/718892) & [holograf.net](http://www.holograf.net) Grzegorz Welnicki had the rare opportunity to meet a young girl who was [abandoned by her mother](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sos-childrens-villages-portugal) only to be [raised by monkeys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/savanna-evidence) for years in the wild. Now 20 years old, she cannot speak and sleeps directly on the ground. Bringing light to a sad situation, Grzegorz Welnicki offers only a small glimpse into her life now. I can't even imagine what goes on in Sylvie's mind, yet from these images it looks as though she lives to just survive. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 86% | Activity: 68% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Feral Child Rehabilitation:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new therapies and interventions to help feral children integrate into society and overcome developmental challenges. - **Wild Animal Communication:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore ways to understand and communicate with wild animals to gain insights into their behavior and enhance conservation efforts. - **Nature-nurture Debate:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Conduct research and experiments to shed light on the complex interplay between genetics and environment in human development. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Healthcare:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Innovate in the field of mental health and psychology to develop effective treatments for feral children and individuals with unique backgrounds. - **Wildlife Conservation:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Use technology and data to improve efforts in studying and protecting wildlife habitats, especially those that house feral children. - **Education:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create specialized educational programs and approaches to support the learning and development of feral children as they integrate into society. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Expertly Designed Gorilla Habitats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/congo-falls.md) - [Glamorous Artful Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sweet-jane.md) - [Children's Illustrated Book Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/one-in-100-initiative.md) - [Luxury Bohemian Fashion Brands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiger-and-the-monkey.md) - [Rainforest-Focused Fundraising Galas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/save-the-rainforest-2025.md) - [Viral Hippo Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moo-deng-collectible.md) - [Kid-Designed Sculptural Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/galerie-philia.md) - [Outdoor Wildlife Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-great-elephant-migration.md) - [Hygienic Hippo Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/confessions-of-moo-deng.md)
