Chinese studio [Group of Architects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/catskill-house) recently completed the development of the Metasequoia Grove Restaurant in the [village of Suzhou, China](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jinji-lake-pavilion). Informed by the metasequoia trees that surround the building, the silhouette of the structure is extremely interesting as it is "topped with a canopy made from a series of aluminum [pyramidal forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carbon-garden-pavilion)." Metasequoias are also known as 'dawn redwood' and are native to Lichuan county in the Hubei province, China.

Like many contemporary practices, Group of Architects wanted to create a building that seamlessly blended into its natural surroundings and "became a part of the landscape." The pyramidal shapes are definitely one of the more prominent elements that draw in attention and each of them is topped by a skylight that generously illuminates the interior of the Metasequoia Grove Restaurant.
