# Grounded Chandeliers 'Swarovski Floor Chandelier' Illuminates With 6,400 Gems By Alexandra Choli | Published 2009-02-18 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grounded-chandeliers-the-swarovski-floor-chandelier-illuminates-space-with References: [studiodror](http://www.studiodror.com/#id=swarovski) If I had to picture an innovative approach to lighting, I would say it would be a giant crystal-loaded chandelier yielded to its weight once and poured onto a floor; that was probably the “ah ha” moment for a designer who realized it is probably even nicer in this context, and who then created the Swarovski Floor Chandelier. Designed by Studio Dror, the overflowing frames of this design embrace a dense knit of the admired luminous crystals. The 6,400 gems emit a dramatic ambient glow, gently illuminating the space as well as the floor. A true Swarovski celebration, this chandelier could easily pass for a Studio Dior design, probably though with a golden frame upgrade. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 16% | Activity: 56% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Crystal Chandeliers:** Incorporating crystal chandeliers into various interior design styles creates an opportunity for the introduction of luxury aesthetics into different spaces. - **Oversized Lighting Fixtures:** Designers can experiment with oversized chandeliers to create visually stunning pieces that can serve as a focal point for a space. - **Floor Lighting:** Floor chandeliers and other floor lighting pieces can be used to transform a space and bring attention to the floor as another design element. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Decor:** Home decor companies can capitalize on the trend of unique lighting fixtures, such as crystal chandeliers, to offer consumers a wider variety of design options. - **Hospitality:** Oversized lighting fixtures can create a dramatic and luxurious atmosphere in hotel lobbies and restaurants, enhancing the guest experience. - **Event Planning:** Floor chandeliers and other unique lighting fixtures can be used to elevate events and create unforgettable experiences for attendees. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Glass Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tamar-grande-chandelier.md) - [Dynamic Hand-Blown Glass Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polaris.md) - [Jewel-Inspired Chandelier Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pearl-chandelier.md) - [Plant-Inspired Dynamic Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blossom-chandelier.md) - [Multifaceted Glass Crystal Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crystal-light-fixtures.md) - [Matte White Dynamic Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/2097-chandelier.md) - [Sculptural Contemporary Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/volant.md) - [Modular Lighting Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crystal-links.md) - [Brick Puzzle Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antique-chandelier.md)
