The unit features a grid-equipped aesthetic that combines components in an upright manner in order to keep them positioned in an efficient yet stylish way. The system was created as part of a competition by renowned Italian coffee brand Lavazza that challenged teams to come up with espresso solutions for the year 2022. The conceptual 'GRID-Espresso' machine is the design work of Fadi Yachoui, Georges Saghbini and Volkan Dogan, and is inspired by the work of artist Piet Mondrian and his distinct color-blocking pieces to correlate the brewing experience to art. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 67% | Freshness: 9% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Kitchen](https://www.trendhunter.com/kitchen) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Coffee Art:** Opportunities to merge art and coffee technology to provide a unique user experience. - **Manual Espresso Machines:** Designing innovative manual appliances for coffee preparation. - **Grid-equipped Aesthetics:** Creating products with stylish and efficient grid-like designs. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Coffee Industry:** Introducing new designs and experiences for coffee consumers. - **Kitchen Appliance Industry:** Innovating manual appliances for improved user experiences. - **Art and Design Industry:** Incorporating design elements and aesthetics into everyday products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Old-Fashioned Espresso Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-modern-espresso-machine.md) - [Barista-Inspired Espresso Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meticulous-espresso.md) - [Harmonious Furniture-Inspired Espresso Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origin-espresso-machine.md) - [Industrial Concrete Coffee Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grisbrew-espresso-maker.md) - [Colorful Box-Like Coffee Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/food-coffee-machine.md) - [Bean-Shaped Coffee Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bean-coffee-machine.md) - [Minimalist Espresso Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/byd-espresso-machine.md) - [Slick Minimalist Coffee Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-coffee-machine.md) - [Computer-Inspired Coffee Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-drip.md)
