# Suspended Sculptural Gardens Green Mobiles by Alexis Tricoire Were Inspired by Shopping Bags By Meghan Young | Published 2013-07-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/green-mobiles References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2013/07/11/green-mobiles-by-alexis-tricoire/) & [alexistricoire](http://www.alexistricoire.com/) The Green Mobiles are one way to add a [lush and sculptural garden indoors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bisley). But what makes them truly special is the inspiration behind the forms. While the name and configuration of the Green Mobiles will bring to mind the [mobiles that hang over baby cribs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/structural-botany), the design of each planter was actually modeled after [shopping bags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basket-sculptures). Although that might seem slightly strange at first, the Green Mobiles were created for a new shopping mall in Prague. They were designed by architects at Alexis Tricoire. As reported by the Contemporist, "The shapes were created with 3form Varia with 40% recycled content that compliments the “green” values of the project. 3form fabrication team thermo formed the unique shapes." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 53% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Suspended Sculptural Gardens:** Create suspended gardens using innovative designs inspired by everyday objects like shopping bags. - **Indoor Greenery:** Bring lush and sculptural gardens indoors with unique planter designs. - **Sustainable Materials:** Utilize materials with recycled content, such as 3form Varia, to create eco-friendly and visually striking designs. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architectural Design:** Architects can incorporate suspended sculptural gardens into their designs for shopping malls, offices, and other spaces. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can use Green Mobiles to bring greenery into indoor spaces in a visually appealing and unique way. - **Sustainable Design:** Designers and manufacturers can explore the use of sustainable materials, like 3form Varia, in creating innovative planter designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Vibrant Dynamic Wall Plant-Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floos.md) - [Draped Plant-Design Shopping Centers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calwer-passage.md) - [Architecture-Inspired Indoor Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vegetment-vegetable-cultivator.md) - [Garden-Inspired Smartphone Chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-moonlit-desk-garden.md) - [Oversized Colorful Dynamic Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tfm.md) - [Handle-Equipped Planter Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-plant-shelf.md) - [Sculptural Mall Dreamscape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unbounded-sanctuary.md) - [Demure Dual-Function Hanging Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-fixture-planter.md) - [Nature-Inspired Design Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantbased-2.md)
