# Balanced Grass-Topped Homes RO_AR Designs a Beautiful Dwelling in the Czech Republic By Kalin Ned | Published 2023-05-01 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grasstopped-home References: [dezeen](https://www.dezeen.com/2023/04/30/grass-topped-home-czech-republic-ro-ar/) A newly designed grass-topped home straddles the line between urbanism and nature in, what seems to be, a perfect balance. The home is located in the Hlubocepy district in the Czech Republic and the structure was designed by RO_AR who strategically orchestrated the "clash of two geometries." The side of the grass-topped home is riddled with sophisticated contemporary sensibilities featuring a rectilinear facade. Toward the back of the structure, one is met with a more whimsical "[hill-like](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-the-slope)" aesthetic that is achieved through the [curving roof](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-house-with-an-inverted-roof) and its grass-topped concrete base. In order to strengthen connections to nature, RO_AR also designed a paved patio, featuring lots of flora and fauna, as well as a small pond.
