# Grassy Picnic Tables This Grass Picnic Table Brings the Picnic Right to You By Michael Baxter | Published 2014-06-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grass-picnic-table References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/new-ways-have-a-modern-picnic/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=Netvibes&utm_campaign=Feed:%20design-milk%20Design%20Milk) & [pinchfooddesign](http://pinchfooddesign.com/) This grass picnic table is bringing the joy and excitement of going out to eat in the great outdoors, indoors. The table takes the grass that makes going out for a picnic so fun and enjoyable and builds it right into the table itself. There are a few things that make for a good eating experience -- the food and the periphery. When it comes to this table the food isn't directly involved, but the periphery creates an experience that's extremely hard to forget. With a table like this, the food may even take a back seat to the table itself. The table is made of metal with short grass built into the top. The seats that are used are wooden benches like the kind that you could find in any regional park. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 21% | Activity: 15% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Indoor-outdoor Fusion:** The integration of natural elements into indoor furniture is a disruptive innovation opportunity for the home decor industry. - **Picnic-style Dining:** The trend of incorporating outdoor dining elements into indoor dining experiences presents a disruptive innovation opportunity for the restaurant industry. - **Green Interior Design:** The trend of using live plants and grass in furniture design presents a disruptive innovation opportunity for the interior design industry. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Decor:** Incorporating nature-based elements into furniture design, like grass picnic tables, can disrupt the home decor industry. - **Restaurant:** Incorporating outdoor dining elements into indoor dining experiences, like picnic-style seating, can disrupt the restaurant industry. - **Interior Design:** The incorporation of live plants and grass in furniture design can disrupt the interior design industry by offering more sustainable and environmentally-friendly options. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Multifunctional Park Picnic Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-picnic-furniture.md) - [Compact Outdoor Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-1.md) - [Sensory Stimulation Dining Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oasix-table.md) - [Communal Outdoor Cooking Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-grill-table.md) - [Geometrically Informed Outdoor Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-table1.md) - [Take-Out Box Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tablebag.md) - [Stunning Nature-Inspired Tablescapes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seedlip.md) - [Tactical Camping Furniture Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pknk-lightweight.md) - [Tree-Mounted Camping Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kimberlite-table.md)
