When I think of Ireland, I do not--not even in the slightest--imagine something like Dublin's Grand Canal Square. Granted, it has been recently revamped and it borders a thriving metropolis (not the country hills and ancient ruins I envision), but still.

Designed by Martha Schwartz Partners, the Grand Canal Square complements the [newly erected Grand Canal Theater](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gate-m-west-bund-dream-center). According to Schwartz herself, "The scheme was to create a [vibrant, energetic space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wired-scape) that would flow naturally into the dynamic and expressive volume of [Daniel] Liebeskind’s theater." Check out the gallery to see the redesign--it's trés modern.
