# Retro Vinyl Record-Inspired Lamps Artyom Alimpjvev Designs the Minimal Gramophone Lamp By Amy Duong | Published 2024-03-15 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gramophone-lamp References: [yankodesign](https://www.yankodesign.com/2024/03/14/gramophone-lamp-adds-a-retro-and-minimalist-lighting-aesthetic-to-your-space/) & [alimpdesign](https://alimpdesign.com/) Artyom Alimpjvev designs the Gramophone Lamp, which is a [sleek lighting structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/delite-20) that is made with inspiration from retro [vinyl records](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brick-turntable). It uses vinyl as the material, forming a simple aesthetic resting on top of a curved base foundation. The base reflects a similar look to the foundation of a traditional desktop monitor, resting on a single aluminum structure that slopes at the back. The main light source is vinyl with a trackpad-like face where it hosts all of the controls -- this includes the ambient light's on and off or the increase or decrease of brightness. The most notable feature is the polycarbonate diffuser disk that magnifies the light to a 'clear' like quality.
